Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if dryer vents aren’t cleaned?
Dirty dryer vents can cause major damage to your dryer, and may even result in fires. Don’t take the chance.
How often should I have my dryer vent cleaned?
Full Time Residents – Once per year
Seasonal Residents – Every 2 to 3 years
Condominium Associations – Every 3 to 4 years
Salons and Spas – 2x per year or as needed
Assisted Living Communities – 2x per year or as needed
Laundromats – 2x per year or as needed
How much does a residential dryer vent cleaning cost?
The cost ranges from $90 – $100.
Does the dryer vent cleaning make a mess of the laundry area?
No. Actually, it’s just the opposite. The area is cleaner after the technician finishes than when he started. All of the lint is contained in our high powered vacuum equipped with a HEPA filter to keep all the lint and dust inside the vacuum. The area behind the dryer is also cleaned as part of the service.
How long does the cleaning take?
Standard cleaning time is between 30 – 60 minutes.
My dryer is taking 2 or 3 cycles to dry. Is it my dryer or the dryer vent?
If the dryer is getting warm and not drying your clothes efficiently, most of the time cleaning the dryer vent will solve the problem. The air is staying in the dryer vent and inside the dryer instead of being exhausted. The lint build up in the vent is not letting the dryer push the air through the vent to the outside.
Do you need to get to the termination point of the dryer vent?
It’s a good idea to visit the termination point after the dryer vent has been cleaned. The technician can remove any lint build up there and check the airflow of the dryer. Termination points deemed unsafe by the technician will not be visited.
Does someone need to be home for the cleaning?
Yes. Getting inside to the laundry area assures that the dryer vent is cleaned from there all the way to termination. Also the inside of the dryer is cleaned (without taking the dryer apart), the area behind the dryer is cleaned, and the transition tube from the dryer to the wall is changed.
